Bayraktar TB3 UAV Breaks Record in High Altitude Test
The news that Bayraktar TB3 UAV broke a record in high altitude testing and achieved a new success in the sky, details are here!
Bayraktar TB3 UAV Sets High Altitude Record
Baykar’s national and original Bayraktar TB3 UAV successfully completed the High Altitude System Performance Test. The UAV broke a record by reaching an altitude of 33,000 feet with its domestic engine.
Altitude Record and Test Process
Bayraktar TB3, in a flight conducted in Çorlu district of Tekirdağ, reached an altitude of 33,000 feet and successfully completed the High Altitude System Performance Test. The national UAV, which took off with the PD-170 engine developed locally by TEI, achieved the highest altitude reached with a domestic engine in this test. The total flight time reached 327 hours.
Bayraktar TB3 UAV flew for the first time with ASELFLIR-500, developed nationally by Aselsan, on March 26, 2024. Thanks to this integration, the ASELFLIR-500 Electro-Optical Reconnaissance, Surveillance, and Targeting System was tested with the highest performance.
Selçuk Bayraktar announced that Bayraktar TB3 will start testing on the TCG Anadolu ship in 2024. The UAV, known for its takeoff and landing capability from ships, will also have beyond-line-of-sight communication capability.
Export and Achievements
Baykar continues to lead in defense and aviation sector exports. Baykar, which was the export champion of the sector in 2021 and 2022, maintained this success in 2023 as well. Having realized an export of 1.8 billion dollars last year, Baykar is the world’s largest UAV exporter. Baykar has signed export agreements with 34 countries so far and obtained 97.5% of its revenues from exports.
