Accreditation Success at 19 May University

Samsun 19 May University (OMÜ), a candidate for research university, has accredited 25 programs, while 3 programs are focused on achieving this goal. OMÜ, intensifying quality-focused efforts to be in the research university league and mobilizing its existing potential in this direction, successfully completed the accreditation process for a total of 25 programs, while the accreditation process is ongoing for 3 programs. As one of Turkey’s prestigious and important universities, OMÜ took a long-term revision to reach quality standards and made significant progress in this context. The main goal at OMÜ is to make quality assurance and efficiency sustainable and permanent.
Rector Ünal’s Evaluation
Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal stated, “OMÜ has started to demonstrate its R&D potential with its entrepreneurial and innovative aspect.” Emphasizing that results have been achieved from OMÜ’s quality-focused efforts and this has been documented by relevant committees, Rector Ünal pointed out, “As we all know, the accreditation and quality process is an ongoing journey and has a dynamic structure. Our university has made significant progress in quality-focused and research development priority works. Performance indicators also confirm this progress and advancement. In short, OMÜ has started to demonstrate its R&D potential with its entrepreneurial and innovative aspect. Our main goal is to achieve the expected standards in all units to elevate the quality of education to the highest level. In this regard, we will continue to work tirelessly day and night.”

Emphasizing that they attach great importance to and embrace the accreditation and quality processes in order to certify the quality of educational activities at OMÜ, Rector Ünal stated, “In today’s world, new and rapid developments in knowledge, technology, digitalization, and communication have accelerated competition and the race in higher education. In order not to fall behind in this race at OMÜ, we must keep our competitive power and resilience alive. In a globalized world, catching up with quality standards in higher education and maintaining them steadily became inevitable. Therefore, raising the quality bar of educational activities at OMÜ above a certain standard, to produce individuals who are proud to be OMÜ graduates, competent, and qualified, is among our primary goals.”
