Transfer of Leadership

Müsavat Dervişoğlu, who was elected as the President of the Good Party at the 5th Extraordinary Congress, took over the duty from Meral Akşener. Dervişoğlu, who was elected as the President at his party’s 5th Extraordinary Congress, went to the party headquarters to take over the duty. At the door, Dervişoğlu was welcomed by the founding President of the Good Party, Meral Akşener. Dervişoğlu and Akşener then went up to the office floor for the handover ceremony amidst the applause of the party members. They had a conversation there.

Dervişoğlu’s Speech

In his speech, Dervişoğlu said, “With the Good Party planting a sapling for Turkish democracy, that sapling has turned into a blessed plane tree. It has strengthened and grown. It has never embarrassed its members and comrades. I have come to announce in this handover ceremony that the sapling it planted is actually a forest. We are now establishing the ‘Forest of the Good’ in the Ovacık region of Sivas. As a memory of this, we donated a sapling in 2017. Thank you if you accept it,” he said.

Akşener’s Speech

In her speech, Akşener said, “This change within this friendship will set an example for Turkey and our youth. It will serve as an example of relief to the individuals and the nation of the country who have been polarized and turned into enemies. I am very happy because of this. That flag is a flag that is the effort of all of us. We will raise it even higher,” she said.

After the handover ceremony, Dervişoğlu bid farewell to Akşener in front of the party headquarters.
