Soldier Rıdvan Gürsoy, who passed away in Ankara after a 2-year treatment process following an accident at the Golcuk Naval Base, was bid farewell with prayers.
Soldier Rıdvan Gürsoy (24), who was injured as a result of a tragic accident at the Golcuk Naval Base under the Ministry of National Defense on September 27, 2022, and lost his life while receiving treatment at Ankara GATA Hospital, was honored with a farewell ceremony in Balıköy town, a district of Tavşanlı in Kütahya.
The unmarried martyr Gürsoy was laid to rest in Balıköy cemetery after a funeral ceremony attended by thousands of people in Kadı Mahallesi. The funeral prayer was led by Dr. İrfan Açık, the Mufti of Kütahya, and forgiveness was asked.
The ceremony was attended by Kütahya Governor Musa Işın, Kütahya Air Soldier Training Brigade and Garrison Commander Brigadier General Mustafa Baş, Golcuk Naval Base Commander Rear Admiral Mustafa Saygılı, AK Party Provincial Chairman Mustafa Önsay, Mayor of Kütahya Eyüp Kahveci, Mayor of Tavşanlı Ali Kemal Derin, Mayor of Balıköy Hasan Mehmet Yazkan, district chairmen of political parties, martyrs and veterans associations, Cyprus veterans, and many citizens.
