Sudden Heavy Rainfall in Karaman Paralyzed Traffic
Due to the sudden heavy rain in Karaman, the traffic came to a standstill. As heavy rain affected the city, drivers experienced difficult moments.
An abrupt heavy rain that occurred in Karaman this afternoon caused major problems in the city center. As the hours passed, the rain, which intensified, filled the streets and underpasses with water, leaving many vehicles stranded on the road.
In Hamidiye Neighborhood, at the Ereğli bridge intersection, a truck managed to stop by climbing onto the median due to the slippery road. Police teams were dispatched to the scene, and the underpass of the bridge was temporarily closed to traffic. As a result of the efforts, the truck was rescued, and the road was reopened to traffic.
In Osmangazi Neighborhood, Alpaslan Türkeş Boulevard and Mara road were also closed to vehicle traffic due to water accumulations. Municipal teams and tow trucks intervened to remove the vehicles from the road.
- In University Neighborhood, vehicles were stranded due to water accumulations on Ibrahim Öktem Street. Construction machinery belonging to Karaman Municipality worked on water drainage.
- Students stranded on the sidewalk were safely rescued with the help of an excavator.
After about half an hour of heavy rain, the weather returned to normal, and officials warned the public to be cautious.
