Members of SİME-SEN celebrated May 1st in Taksim Square
Members of SİME-SEN celebrated the Labor Day on May 1st with enthusiasm in Taksim Square. Union members gathered together and conveyed messages of unity and solidarity.

Members of the Civil Servants Union (SİME-SEN) dressed in janissary, chef, lawyer, miner, and engineer outfits came together enthusiastically in Taksim Square on May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day. The SİME-SEN members gathered in the square, emphasizing the significance of the day by laying a wreath at the Republic Monument. The group stood out with their colorful outfits and slogans. They highlighted unity and solidarity with slogans like ‘Long live May 1st, the workers’ holiday’.
SİME-SEN President Kenan Haluk Baytemir stated in his speech, ‘Today, we have gathered here for social peace based on labor, freedom, justice, and for a pluralistic and libertarian democratic order to prevail. We demand that the institution allowance be given to all personnel working in the institution. In addition, the inflation difference should be reflected in the salaries on a monthly basis.’
