International Workers’ Day Celebrations

May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day, celebrated in many parts of the world, was also celebrated with enthusiasm in Bursa. The celebrations in the city took place at two different locations.

Celebration on Fatih Sultan Mehmet Boulevard

In the morning hours, a march was organized on Fatih Sultan Mehmet Boulevard in Bursa with the participation of thousands of union members, in line with the decision taken by Türk-İş nationwide. The event took place in a lively atmosphere and made the voice of the laborers heard.

Traditional Celebration at Kent Square

May 1st, traditionally celebrated every year in Bursa, was held at Kent Square with the participation of thousands of workers, students, union members, and representatives of civil society organizations. During the march in the area, demands towards the government were expressed and the importance of labor was emphasized.

In the May 1st celebrations, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey, who was among the workers, emphasized the greatness of labor, stating that the living standards of workers need to be improved and that it is necessary to protect the rights of laborers.
