Düzce Municipality Employee May 1st Rafting Event

DÜZCE (İHA) – Düzce Municipality organized a special event for its employees on the occasion of May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day. Municipal workers who had the opportunity to go rafting for the first time in their lives in Melen River spent an exciting day.

Exciting Rafting Experience

Within the program organized by Düzce Municipality Youth Services and Sports Directorate, workers employed in various departments of the municipality celebrated May 1st enthusiastically by rafting on Melen River. After receiving a brief training, the workers descended to the fast-flowing Melen River with their boats and paddles. By getting on the boats and paddling, the workers had an unforgettable May 1st experience.

Düzce Municipality Vice President Barış Bayrak, who provided information about the event, said, ‘We organized such an event to make May 1st memorable. Happy May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day to all workers.’

Düzce Municipality Youth Services and Sports Director Yasin Tüfekçi stated, ‘We wanted to celebrate the field workers of the municipality with a rafting activity on May 1st. Last year, we organized a rafting event for 500 young people who had never been rafting before.’

Excitement of Those Rafting for the First Time

• Orkut Ceylan: ‘We are grateful to our municipality. Our competitors are very strong. We are excited because it’s our first time. Hopefully, we will finish the course successfully.’
• Fahrettin Dudak: ‘I am excited because it’s my first time rafting. I thank our Municipality very much for organizing such an event for us. After receiving a challenging course training, we will descend into the water.’
