Severe Storm in Yozgat Toppled Apricot Tree

Heavy rainfall and severe storm in Yozgat uprooted a healthy apricot tree located in front of Yimpaş Sites in Aşağı Nohutlu Neighborhood, knocking it down onto the road. During the incident, traffic in the neighborhood was briefly halted, and the fallen tree’s apricots were collected by the residents and children.

Orhan Mercan, a resident of the neighborhood, described the moments he experienced as follows: ‘I was sitting at home with my wife when I suddenly saw the tree fall. Luckily, no one was harmed. The intensity of the wind was truly frightening. I immediately notified the municipality.’

Another resident of the neighborhood, Cemil Cansever Rüzgar, recounted the incident as follows: ‘The speed of the wind was incredible, the apricot tree fell and its apricots scattered on the ground. It had never fallen this close before. We also collected them. The same storm even shook the iron bars of the building, the situation is really worrying.’
