Severe Storm and Heavy Rainfall in Yozgat: Apricot Tree Fell

As a result of the heavy rain and severe storm in Yozgat province, a apricot tree in front of Yimpaş Sites in Aşağı Nohutlu Neighborhood was uprooted and fell onto the road. Due to this incident, traffic in the neighborhood was briefly interrupted, and the apricots of the tree were collected by the residents and children.

Orhan Mercan, a resident of the neighborhood, described the incident as follows: ‘I was at home with my wife when suddenly the tree fell on a car. Fortunately, there was no serious damage to the vehicle, just minor scratches. The wind was so strong that it even broke the trunk of another apple tree. It is a great luck that no one was harmed, I immediately called the fire department.’

Cemil Cansever Rüzgar, a citizen, stated about their experience, ‘The wind was very strong, the apricot tree fell. We are trying to help by collecting the apricots. Previously it was difficult to pick the fruits as they were high up, now an opportunity has arisen. The iron bars of the building were also damaged, it is really a sad situation.’
