Antalya Metropolitan Municipality celebrated April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day with the “April 23 Children and Kite Festival” filled with activities. Music and dance shows, contests, and many other activities were featured at the Children and Kite Festival, where children from around the world delivered a message of peace from Antalya.
The 104th anniversary of the opening of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, which Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk dedicated to children, were celebrated with enthusiasm in Antalya. As Antalya Metropolitan Municipality organized the 25th International Children and Kite Festival this year, children from Antalya celebrated their holiday with great excitement and had lots of fun.
Official parade
As part of the program prepared by the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Culture and Social Affairs Department, an official parade was held on Cam Piramit Kral Yolu. Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin, along with Mayor Muhittin Böcek, attended the parade where child governor and child mayor also participated. Students from different schools in Antalya showcased folk dance, dance, band, and Janissary band performances. Due to April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, 500 students from 12 different countries were hosted in Antalya. Azerbaijani, Georgian, and Uzbek students showcased their country-specific dance performances on the stage of Cam Piramit Kral Yolu.
Throughout the day, Antalya’s children celebrated their holiday with enthusiasm in the activities organized on Cam Piramit Kral Yolu as part of the Children and Kite Festival. Mayor Muhittin Böcek also visited the event area, sharing the excitement of children and families. Bubble shows, juggler performances, giant mascots, inflatable play parks, wooden play stations, face painting, balloon twisting, wooden legs, and cartoon characters provided children with enjoyable hours.
The sky lit up
The Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Band and City Orchestra and İsmail Baha Sürelsan Children’s Choir also performed concerts as part of the events. The festival brought joy to the sky.
Children’s fashion day
As part of the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day celebrations, the “New Generation Children’s Fashion Day Fashion Show Program” also met with the people of Antalya. Traditional and modern clothes designed by designers Dayana Alimbayeva, Ayaulym Nursultan, and Dar Diamond from Astana, Kazakhstan, were presented by 16 child models on the stage of Cam Piramit Kral Yolu to the delight of the audience.
Within the scope of the 25th International Antalya Children and Kite Festival, guest children from countries around the world performed shows at Dokuma Park in cooperation with Antalya Metropolitan Municipality and Kepez Municipality. Children of the world delivered a message of peace by performing their country-specific music. Antalya’s children experienced an unforgettable holiday.
