In Yozgat, the Department of Family and Social Services organized an ‘Autism Awareness Walk’.

In Yozgat, on April 2nd, a walk was organized in honor of “World Autism Awareness Day” by the Department of Family and Social Services. Deputy Directors and staff of the Department of Family and Social Services participated in the walk. The silent walk, which started on Lise Avenue, ended at Cumhuriyet Square.

Arif Topal, the Director of the Department of Family and Social Services, stated that they walked to increase awareness and sensitivity regarding the participation of individuals with autism in social life. He said, “April 2nd has been declared as “World Autism Awareness Day” by the United Nations. Additionally, throughout the month of April, which is also known as “Autism Awareness Month,” efforts are being made worldwide to increase awareness and sensitivity regarding autism and the participation of individuals with autism in social life.”

Topal also expressed that they work to ensure that children with autism and their families are happy and able to socialize in life.
