Turkey’s first military aircraft engine successfully fired

- Turkey’s first military aircraft engine successfully fired
The first military aircraft engine of Turkey developed by TUSAŞ Engine Industries (TEI), TEI-TF6000, was successfully fired. Turkey’s first military turbofan engine, TEI-TF6000, was successfully ignited. The first prototype of the TEI-TF6000 engine, whose design work started in November 2020, emerged as a result of the procurement, part, module production, and assembly process and was successfully fired on February 27th. In this context, the completed version of the TEI-TF6000 engine was introduced for the first time at TEI Eskişehir facilities.
The ignition, a significant milestone in Turkish aviation history, indicated that a critical threshold had been surpassed in the field of aviation engines and served as a concrete indication that TEI had ascended to the world’s premier league in aviation engines. Within the project framework, accessory subsystems related to turbofan engines for the first time in Turkey, fan module, variable stator compressor, flow mixer exhaust, and afterburner design were carried out. Along with the development and manufacturing stages, significant gains were also made in critical technology, competent, and experienced human resources.
TEI-TF6000 to power KIZILELMA and ANKA-III
TEI-TF6000 and its afterburning version, TEI-TF10000 engines, are being developed by TEI to power KIZILELMA and ANKA-3 unmanned combat aircraft. These engines will also benefit the technologies needed for the development of the engine for the National Combat Aircraft KAAN. In this context, Turkey’s motor need in this class will be significantly met.
