A crucial turning point in Turkish aviation history

- A crucial turning point in Turkish aviation history
- Turkey’s first indigenous turbofan aircraft engine TF6000 has been successfully tested
Initiated under the auspices of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) and carried out under the responsibility of TEI, the project successfully tested Turkey’s first military turbofan engine, TF6000. The first military turbofan engine, TF6000, was designed to gain technology, undergo testing, and demonstrate capabilities on the path to the engine of the National Combat Aircraft KAAN. It was designed to have real military turbofan engine features.
A significant milestone in Turkish aviation history
Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, the President of Defense Industries, shared the following on his social media account regarding the project’s progress:
“Our National Power Swells Our Chests, Gives Peace to Hearts! Turkey’s first National Turbofan Engine TF6000, powered by the energy of our homeland’s children, was successfully run for the first time in the national engine test system! At the end of the testing process, KIZILELMA and ANKA-3 will derive power from TF6000! I sincerely congratulate everyone involved in the project, especially our engineers and technical teams. May it be auspicious and beneficial for our country and our nation.”
With the TF6000 Project, Turkey has successfully operated a military turbofan aircraft engine for the first time, contributing to the advancement of aircraft engine technology. Along with the TF6000/TF10000 engine projects, Turkey will also achieve the design, development, and manufacturing stages of relevant accessory subsystems, fan module, variable stator compressor, mixed flow exhaust, and afterburner, providing gains in critical technology, domestic auxiliary industry firms, and experienced human resources.
