“The Character Education Project” teacher trainings continue

With the participation of the Erzincan Provincial Director of National Education, Hacı Ömer Kartal, teacher trainings for the “Character Education Project” are ongoing, aiming not only to improve students’ academic achievements but also to instill many moral values such as respect, love, responsibility, patience, mercy, generosity, contentment, loyalty, patriotism, awareness of sharing, and empathy.

Under the auspices of the Erzincan Governorship and coordinated by the Provincial Directorate of National Education, the Character Education CAN-KAR project, which primarily targets preschools but will be implemented in all schools, aims to instill approximately 30 values that align with fundamental moral principles such as love for the Prophet, patriotism, respect, tolerance, patience, mercy, responsibility, justice, honesty, humility, contentment, generosity, love for animals, and awareness of sharing, all of which are considered common denominators of humanity, through visual and auditory methods.

The project will convey to students the idea that in order to experience the joy of being a “good” person, they need to possess values and virtues in their inner worlds. It will emphasize that every individual has their own interpretations of what is right within their own mental worlds and that no one is at the center of reality. Additionally, the project aims to foster the ability in students to understand others’ perspectives and to develop empathy.

With the distinction of being an exemplary project in Turkey, initially, 22 independent preschools in the city center, followed by independent preschools in districts, totaling 37 independent preschools, will receive training within the scope of the project. In Erzincan, a total of 240 schools under the Erzincan Provincial Directorate of National Education, comprising 3,905 teachers and 45,700 students, will serve as the human resources reached through the dissemination of the project.
